Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how VideoMagic ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information obtained from users of our Shopify app. VideoMagic is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Information We Collect
Through Shopify APIs
- Shop name and information
- Product listings and their associated images
- History of billing charges
Service Usage Data
- Generated videos and related metadata (length, format/aspect ratio, timestamps)
- Prompts, templates, and prompt usage statistics
- Credit usage and package information
- Technical logs (e.g., IP address, device/browser info, error logs) for security and diagnostics
- Support communications
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for:
- Internal functioning of the app and video generation (including AI processing of prompts and images)
- Managing billing plans, credits, and payments
- Improving our service, performance, and user experience
- Providing customer support and ensuring security and fraud prevention
- Fulfilling legal obligations
We do not use your information for marketing or advertising purposes outside the scope of providing our service.
Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): to provide the app’s core features (e.g., video generation, credit management).
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to secure and improve the service, prevent abuse, and understand feature usage.
- Legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)): to maintain records required by law (e.g., billing/finance).
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where required for optional features; you may withdraw consent at any time.
Data Storage and Retention
- App data is primarily stored in the European Economic Area (EEA), specifically in France and/or Germany.
- Videos are stored in the EEA.
- Videos and associated data are retained for the duration of your subscription. You may delete items earlier within the app where available.
- Upon uninstallation of the app, videos and app data are deleted within 30 days, except data we must retain to comply with legal obligations (e.g., billing and accounting records, typically retained for 6–10 years under applicable law).
- Backups and logs are retained for limited periods necessary for security, continuity, and compliance.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, least-privilege practices, monitoring, and regular vulnerability management.
International Data Transfers
While primary storage occurs in the EEA, certain processing of Inputs (such as prompts and product images) may be performed by third-party AI providers located outside the EEA, including the United States.
Where we transfer personal data outside the EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, participation in recognized data transfer frameworks. We transfer only the minimum data necessary to provide the relevant functionality.
Third-Party Service Providers
The app uses technology provided by third-party service providers to deliver certain AI features. You acknowledge that any Input you provide, including any personal data you choose to include, may be shared with third-party service providers we engage to enable functionality within the Service. By using the AI products, you direct and consent to personal data you include in an Input being transferred to third parties, including OpenAI, LLC in the United States, which, depending on where you reside, may not provide the same level of protection for your personal data. We contractually require providers to protect your data consistent with applicable law and only process it as necessary to provide their services to us.
Your Rights
Under GDPR and other applicable data protection laws, you have rights regarding your personal data, including:
- The right to access your data
- The right to rectify inaccurate data
- The right to erasure of your data

Role Under GDPR
- For merchant account data and app operations, we generally act as an independent controller.
- For any personal data of your customers that you submit to the app, we act as a processor on your behalf. We process such data only according to your instructions and our agreement. A Data Processing Addendum (DPA) is available upon request.

These terms cover VideoMagic's AI features (AI Products), including turning your product images and prompts into short videos and uploading them to your Shopify store. We may update these terms from time to time.
Be kind, be safe, be legal
- Use AI responsibly and follow these terms and our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).
- Don't use AI to create harmful, hateful, violent, shocking, or adult content (never involving minors).
- Don't generate medical, legal, or financial advice.
- Don't make political persuasion content or disinformation.
- Don't infringe rights (copyrights, trademarks, logos, likeness).
- Don't make spam, malware, or instructions for illegal activity.
- Don't mislead people by implying AI-generated content is purely human-made.
Your content (Input and Output)
- You're responsible for what you upload (Input) and what's generated (Output).
- Only upload content you have rights to use (e.g., product photos, logos).
- Don't include sensitive personal data in Inputs (e.g., health, religion, sexual orientation, political opinions).
- You own your Input and Output. We don't claim copyright ownership.
Permission to operate the service
- You give us permission to host, process, and reformat your Input and Output so we can generate videos and (at your direction) upload them to your Shopify product media.
Attribution
- Please let viewers know when content is AI-generated so it's clear and not misleading.
Credits and limits
- Video generation uses credits. Different lengths/features may use different amounts.
- Pricing, packages, and your usage are shown in-app. Credits may expire as stated in-app.
- We may apply fair-use limits to keep the service reliable.
Shopify integration
- With your permission, we upload Output to your Shopify product media and make it available to your theme.
- Removing media in Shopify doesn't automatically remove minimal operational logs we keep for a limited time.
Data and technology partners
- We use trusted third-party AI and cloud providers. Your Input may be processed by them (including outside your country). See our Privacy Policy for details and choices.
Review before sharing
- Always review Outputs before publishing to your store or social channels.

- AI can be wrong or need editing. Outputs don't represent our views.
- We don't guarantee accuracy, originality, or fitness for a particular purpose. Please verify important claims.
